The next generation of opera, on our stage and in our community.​

The Charleston Opera Theater Studio brings undergraduate singers into the heart of our company for a season of professional experience. Studio artists are paid and contracted like the working artists beside them. They rehearse with them, learn from them in masterclass, and share our main stage with them.

They are also our young ambassadors. From Second Sunday on King Street to salon concerts and stages across the Lowcountry, Studio artists carry opera into the community, bringing the art form to new audiences with fresh voices.

These are the singers who will carry opera forward. The Studio gives them the experience to do it, and gives Charleston the chance to hear them first.
